Ahmed Aldoori (@ahmedaldoori_art) is my pick for today’s talent!

Ahmed is an artist from the USA with a crazy technique and expertise. He shares pencil sketches too sometimes but you’ll mostly see the finished pieces done with Photoshop. He gives lessons and also shares free goodies on gumroad (all of his links are below as always, if you’re interested!) and you’ll see how productive he can be.
I surely love all the lighting he does cause he’s really good at that and the artworks feel like being perfect, they step up a lot and look extremely professional. If you wanna give it a minute I suggest you to take a peek at his YouTube channel, I found it full of great content so I think you won’t regret it.
The first piece is one he did quite some time ago but I am still so mesmerized by it every time I see it, I mean this lady is fantastic and the pet looks sooooo gorgeous. He made them because of an animal companion challenge, I love this kind of things the image really gives me those fantasy vibes. The clothing on top of everything is exceptional, there are no words to describe it, I think it was so well made it holds parts of a culture that I’d love to know more about.
The second image showcases perfectly Ahmed’s ability with colors, light, and sketching, it’s amazing. Who told you mermaids are all like “the little” one? This one looks quite scary and it’s more in line with the Odyssey version of the creatures if you ask me, one you surely don’t want your fishing net to “get caught into”, cause I mean… You are not really thinking you can catch her if she doesn’t allow you to, right?

It was January 2019 when I started teaching myself drawing and painting. One day I opened YouTube and saw this Ahmed video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PyOK5N2AOCY). I was astonished on how Ahmed manage to explain in a way I could actually absorb and understand. From that on, I’ve been following Ahmed’s work and I learned so much from his videos and tutorials, I’m forever thankful!
Fast forward to September of that year, I flew from Brazil to LA for LightBox Expo, where I had a chance to say hi to Ahmed and a lot of other amazing artists, I even bought one of his prints, the first one in this post (the lady with the bird). 🙂
