Arash Razavi (@sketchbash) is my pick for today’s talent!
If you don’t know what A Year on Talents is here you can find the description of the project: A Year on Talents Project

Arash is a concept designer from Paris, France. While there’s no real limit to the subjects he paints including landscapes and environments, objects and I almost want to say “random stuff” he puts a study onto or something like that, I really really love when he posts an animal or a human figure in his oil-ish digital style.

There is something in the blending of the figure with the background, in the mixing of the colors or I don’t know it’s probably also just the best drawings, the fact is that the paintings are magnetic and I can’t stop looking once I started. The amount of precision he puts on some of the smallest details shows he doesn’t care about “first impressions” and he wants to make great art.

The first image is his take on Esmeralda, a character he worked on based in “a fantasy filmnoir-ish world”, as he said. The woman is spectacular and the light touching her looks amazing. Her pose and the hands help to give you an idea of the kind of character you’re looking at. Speaking of little details that make the difference take a minute to zoom in and see the rolling dices.. imagine the painting without them and you’ll probably realize how central and important those little swirling cubes are. I feel like they balance the composition very well and split the focus from the lady.

The other two pics are works he did on commission for the Procreate5 release. To be fair I could just leave you here like this they both don’t even need another word… Take the bird, for example, can anyone please tell me how he made it look so soft while keeping its royal aura? The color choices are insanely good! The brush strokes are simply fantastic and I love that the two animals “fade” in the background so smoothly.

What do you think about Arash? Do you also love what’s going on here?
