Francisco Fonseca (@_francis.co) is my pick for today’s talent!
If you don’t know what A Year on Talents is here you can find the description of the project: A Year on Talents Project

Francisco is an illustrator and street artist based in Porto, Portugal. His art is kinda unique and I’m going to try to describe the feelings I have about it hoping you can grab the essence behind them. Looking at all the houses (those are the most frequent subject in his illustrations) folklore and tales in general start popping in my mind, I don’t really know why but the sense is that the places he illustrates have something particular, some stories hidden behind.

Talking about his favorite subject his profile is full of little houses, big houses, strange and unconventional houses, aerial views of houses, little lonely houses and cute groups of houses.. I mean you get the point.

The first image is as crazy as it could be yet it’s so cute, every single little part of the house is fine by itself, is totally mismatched with the near one but then is perfectly completing the whole picture. I find it really appealing! The tones are perfect and I just love all the bricks creating details on the walls. Plus the car is amazing.

The second and third images are two examples of aerial views I like a lot for a few reasons: in the first one the fields are just fantastic, it’s art representing the world that is doing art itself with those mosaic tiles building a spectacular view. In the second one I think the contrast between the roofs and the shining windows and city lights is perfect, it kinda lets you chose if you want to see a cold scene or a warm one.

What do you think about Francisco? Do you also love what’s going on here?
