Mikko Eerola (@angrymikko) is my pick for today’s talent!
If you don’t know what A Year on Talents is here you can find the description of the project: A Year on Talents Project

Mikko is a digital artist focusing primarily on landscapes and environments, which are the reason why I wanted to have him here. It looks like he doesn’t fear any type of land or sky, he dives into different places so naturally. All of this combined with gorgeous palettes and very cool tones, good light reflections and beautiful clouds.

Mikko puts a lot of effort into his YouTube channel too, where he streams live and shares video tutorials. Video production is actually way more complicated than you might think if you’ve never tried it, if anything just for the amount of time it takes to create something of the level of his videos, and live streams add a layer of complexity so I really admire his work.

The first image is wonderful on so many levels, I mean let me start from the top or I’ll miss something: the moon and the sky together with those fluffy clouds are fantastic and the halo is top notch. The tree honestly could be an artwork in on itself even if you were to remove everything else from the canvas, I love the warm light coming up from below. Lastly the rocks forming the hill are super nice and very much detailed for not being the primary subject. I like this one a lot!

Oh my the second piece is sooooo cute! He found a lovely way to paint the island, I just adore the perspective changing completely in this artwork he called “Strange Visitors”, where the living earth takes a look at those little humans passing by. It looks like mommy or daddy stone showing the way to baby stone growing up, so sweet.

What do you think about Mikko? Do you also love what’s going on here?
