Paul Heaston (@paulheaston) is my pick for today’s talent!
If you don’t know what A Year on Talents is here you can find the description of the project: A Year on Talents Project

Paul is an artist, urban sketcher and book author from Denver. From his feed I have to say I really love all the black and white sketches he makes (so much that I’ve chosen 3 of em to showcase here today).

I particularly like how he’s able to handle lights and shadows sometimes filling the shapes sometimes using parallel lines, giving them little or more space to vary and create nouances on the shadows. It’s a great way to draw in grayscale.

The first image is so cool it’s almost like a fisheye perspective, I like the fact that the level of details he put on this drawing is absurdly high, take a moment to zoom in the pic (click on the image) and count the little objects he gave life to. I wonder how many hours he spent on the couch!

Wow the truck drawn on location is amazing, this time the shadows are filled but the details are insane once again, it’s easy to miss for example how good are the bricks of the house in the background, or the grass in the foreground. Lovely

What do you think about Paul? Do you also love what’s going on here?
I’d like to discuss today’s talent with you in the comments below!
