Yaroslava Apollonova (@odnatamyara) is my pick for today’s talent!
If you don’t know what A Year on Talents is here you can find the description of the project: A Year on Talents Project

Yaroslava is an illustrator and character designer from Russia. She works in digital and mainly creates female figures of all kinds. If you scroll her feed you’ll see from princesses to normal teenagers, from mermaids to witches, good ones, evil ones, black girls, white girls, blondes, brunettes, every kind of mixture in the middle of what I just said and everything else I didn’t mention.

The surprising factor? I think Yaroslava is super good at designing the characters she illustrates because they all feel genuine and realistic. It’s not easy, especially when you have to get out of your comfort zone to try something different that will keep your subject fresh.

This young witch floating around on her broom is fantastic! Love the choice for the gradient on her hair. Note how different she is from the idea of the normal “witch” I’m sure most people have in their mind at first. Not ugly, no black dress, not old, I see no poisoned apples around.. Just a teenager acting like one, but flying on her own.

Are you looking for a Halloween costume this year? You’re in luck today, take this chance to create a make up like the one on the second image (needs some hair styling too for perfect results). I really like all the little details, from her eyes to the necklaces. As a side note: the little bat on the mirror is sooooo cute!

What do you think about Yaroslava? Do you also love what’s going on here?
I’d like to discuss today’s talent with you in the comments below!
