Albeniz Rodriguez (@albeniz_rodriguez) is my pick for today’s talent!
If you don’t know what A Year on Talents is here you can find the description of the project: A Year on Talents Project

Albeniz is a digital artist with a great sense of art and humor, which he often combines to create funny potraits (burlesques if you will) featuring humans and animals. His art is fantastic and that you’ll see very quickly on your own, but if you’re looking for a profile that steals a smile 100% of the times there is no rival on IG, go check it out!

I like a lot when animals make funny faces cause they’re all adorable and Albeniz seems to be in line with that feeling in his art, painting the most crazy looks with big eyes and strange poses. Don’t stop at those tho, cause honestly all the portraits are wonderful even the ones that feel more serious, the fun part is often there and when it is that’s a plus, but it’s definitely not required.

The first image reminds me of “Up” (the animation movie) so much that I couldn’t skip it. It’s an original painting, something you might see on a “let’s take a family photo” gone wrong kinda moment, you know when the dog feels it a little bit too much. I love the blur effect both in the foreground and in the background leaving focus to the middle distance, it’s super realistic and well painted.

The second painting is a photography study showing how good he is not only at drawing but with colors too. This light beam hitting the eye is fantastic, the split reflection is also super well made and once again the blurry background fits perfectly. That seems to be a constant on his artworks and I like it very much, he kinda “forces” you to look in the precise spot he thought of with a soft effect and so much naturalness.

What do you think about Albeniz? Do you also love what’s going on here?
