Angela Sung (@angothemango) is my pick for today’s talent!
If you don’t know what A Year on Talents is here you can find the description of the project: A Year on Talents Project

Angela is a visual development artist based in California, she mostly posts and creates art digitally but I’ve seen her share plein air paintings too. I’m really impressed every time I see her illustrations by the quality of the pieces and the insane amount of details.

The best artworks give me such a strong feeling of naturalness, they look like a photo but hand drawn. She is able to represent reality and where things are in space with the perfect proportions, the correct dimensions and perspective. I think it’s just a mix of everything done in the right way that ends up looking great!

The first image is an illustration of a Japanese street. I invite you to zoom in the pic and take a close look at how many details and little things help giving this piece the sense of realism I was talking about. Above all the first building on the left sporting amazing light reflections, but look at the wall on the right with that ray of light. It’s little things like this one that make the big difference.

The second image is the perfect example of how much colors can do, even tho this time the style is a bit loose the whole experience is enhanced a lot by the energy of the colors she chose. And by the way, when I talk about details, take a look at the car with the trunk open! It’s not just a line of parked cars, it’s a precise moment in time, like photographs do it’s a “screenshot” of a real life experience.

What do you think about Angela? Do you also love what’s going on here?
