Drew Europeo (@dreweuropeo) is my pick for today’s talent!
If you don’t know what A Year on Talents is here you can find the description of the project: A Year on Talents Project

Drew is an artist and teacher from Philippines and it’s also a bit of a special guest for me today because she happens to be number 100 on this series! I’m glad I’ve been able to make it this far and what’s better than flowers to celebrate? Yes, she really shines with her floral paintings, both in gouache and watercolors: beautiful, bold, detailed, always different and sporting extreme depth.

She also owns a thriving YouTube channel where she uploads lots of cool videos, if you’re into flowers and want to learn a thing or two, or even if you just want to enjoy watching Drew while she paints and gives life to spectacular compositions go check her channel out!

The first image is about a painting she also shot the video of (so like I said, if you’re interested in the process video you can find it in the links below). I like the colors very very much, her ability to move from white to light blue and then to dark blue is stunning, for a super delicate result. The sense of depth and the effect of light on the petals are gorgeous, I just wanna watch paintings like this one for days!

The second image is a perfect composition. This time in contrast to the previous painting she was able to use all the color palette while keeping an awesome balance between cold and warm tones. She didn’t sacrifice leaves, details, depth or light and created a wonderful painting. Notice the dark background to let the white flowers pop up and give their best, a wise choice.

What do you think about Drew? Do you also love what’s going on here?
