Elena Chimeri (@eko.foxy) is my pick for today’s talent!
If you don’t know what A Year on Talents is here you can find the description of the project: A Year on Talents Project
Elena is an artist from Genova, Italy. She isn’t locked on a single medium since her background studies and experience give her the ability to paint digitally, illustrate with traditional mediums, create objects and even tattoos! Most of her artworks share the color palette, it seems she likes to use all the “ground” tones connected to earth, plants and nature in general. This means greens, yellows and browns are all a huge part of her profile and in general she prefers to not use them in their brightest of fashions but rather keep them dark and calm which gives all the illustrations a very relaxing feeling. All the characters also look super cute so I find it fantastic to browse her feed.
The first little witch is the protagonist of an artwork where Elena focused on completing a perfect background as well as a lovely magical girl. I find all the details to be stunning and I think they make a big difference, it starts to look like a snapshot from a story, one with fantastic characters that have real personalities, hobbies, passions and so on. You can imagine the lady loves plants, likes to cook and also likes to setup a welcoming and warm house.
The second little witch is hanging around with her froggy friend (is that her companion by the way? would love it!). This pic is cute and also a tiny bit scary, I don’t know why but a kid relying on a lantern sounds like the start of scary film.. Or perhaps is she the one we should be scared of? After all if she can throw spells and has frog friends every magical monster should take it slowly. Jokes aside, the vintage style the clothes and the pics on the wall create a wonderful athmosphere!
What do you think about Elena? Do you also love what’s going on here?
