French Carlomagno (@french_carlomagno) is my pick for today’s talent!
If you don’t know what A Year on Talents is here you can find the description of the project: A Year on Talents Project
French is an illustrator and comic book artist from Italy, he is an artist with a lot of experience and it’s so easy to say looking at his feed on IG. You could be watching a piece of finalized work and a quick morning sketch next to each other and distinguish them only cause one is fantastic and the other one is even better. Yep! It happened to me before.. I’ve looked at some gorgeous stuff and then I read the caption to find out it was a “quick warmup” or something like that. I want to think he’s joking but he’s not, he is just skilled.
I adore all the fanart he posts, most of the times in his perfect comic book style I get to see cool superheroes or tv series favorites of mine. Sometimes both!
The first image is a study of Natalie he made for Labyrinth:Masquerade. There’s one more, Ana, shared together with it on insta. About this one I think I really like the white dress and the tiara she has in the central drawing. Her skin color pairs wonderfully with the clothings (and the jewels!!) and the grace of her pose is just amazing. The transformation of the hair style from casual to perfect is also top notch. I love this study!
The second pic is French’s #faceyourart challenge. I’m glad he did it cause look at how many different characters and details we can get in a single post! My favorite is probably just Thanos and that’s because I like the Marvel universe and it felt cool to see him there. Did you know the Infinity Gems (two of which at least out of a total of six are already in place on the gauntlet in the artwork) changed colors to match the ones of the Infinity Stones from the Marvel Cinematic Universe?
What do you think about French? Do you also love what’s going on here?
I’d like to discuss today’s talent with you in the comments below!
