Syl (@shinsyl) is my pick for today’s talent!
If you don’t know what A Year on Talents is here you can find the description of the project: A Year on Talents Project

Syl is a background artist based in France. At this point I usually try to give you a quick preview of what you’ll find if you decide to take a look at the artist’ profile and why I liked it so much that I asked to write about them, but this time I’m going with a different approach. I found something beautiful that speaks for itself and I think it’s worth it to share with you all. I’m sure it’s more than enough.

“I love to paint illustrations that can resonate with people and make them dream … At the end of the day, I just hope I can make your day a bit brighter.”

These are Syl’s words on their ko-fi about section. Please, spend a minute of your time to read them twice.

The first image comes from a photo they took in a park in Lisboa, Portugal. It’s almost too good to be real I mean this scene looks fabulous like it came from a fairy tale. There are so many elements I love about this artwork, starting from the water and the different games it plays on each of the “steps” all the way to the foreground, in which this blurred out foliage makes the whole pic look so natural and real. Amazing.

The second artwork reminds me of a situation I face all the time. Syl shared in the caption: “it was supposed to be 1 hour”. I do that too! I look at the clock and it’s dark outside and I’m like.. what happened?? So I’m totally with you in this one. This painting is gorgeous, I find the warm light coming from the right to be extremely good and I love this style which looks very much like a “traditionally” painted piece.

What do you think about Syl? Do you also love what’s going on here?
I’d like to discuss today’s talent with you in the comments below!
