Jocelin Carmes (@jocelincarmes) is my pick for today’s talent!
If you don’t know what A Year on Talents is here you can find the description of the project: A Year on Talents Project

Jocelin is a visual development artist, concept artist and illustrator from France. On his IG you’ll face a big variety of artworks ranging from beautiful environments to character portraits with splashes of animals and fantasy worlds. I really like the different expressions of art he’s able to produce with zero limits to color palettes, subjects and painting styles (from loose and rough to precise and detailed).

The first pic is an amazing take on the city of Prague, he used a few references to build up this view and added in some assassin’s creed vibes by painting the figure in the foreground. I appreciate the color choices and the fact that the architectural elements on the back feel so real and are very well drawn. His way of letting light come in with this tight angle and letting it be a big part of the painting is also quite nice, I think this piece is great!

The second image is a landscape he drew after watching Moana, the Disney movie, and getting inspired by it. There is no doubt nature in that slice of the world is wonderful and mostly still untouched and far away from the devastating human changes. It’s for sure a great source of hope and I like this wild nature painting so much cause of that, it shows the most beautiful places in the world could actually be the ones noone has ever been to. The clouds here are just fantastic together with the greenery covering the rocks, a stunning artwork.
