Jowita Marczuk (@jowishka.art) is my pick for today’s talent!
If you don’t know what A Year on Talents is here you can find the description of the project: A Year on Talents Project

Jowita is an architect from Germany, she paints primarily with watercolors on her free time. Among all things I personally think she has a great skill for composing the scene, the sketchbook page and the picture itself. All in one it makes for some gorgeous images to look at.

She usually paints landscapes and likes to do it plein air, I guess her other passions for traveling and hiking help in that regard giving her plenty of occasions to take a brief pause and create art.

The first image is the perfect example of what I said about composition. She chose to make a large horizontal painting on the bottom, no clean edges and the subject is on the right. On top there’s another painting with the subject on the left this time and she used the free area to showcase the color palette. The drawings are amazing too, great rithm, I especially love the wooden cabin!

The second image shows some mini paintings, they’re pretty cute. Notice how she decided to represent the clouds in all three, I like to do that too, it’s an area of the paper purposely left untouched, a real example of less being more.

What do you think about Jowita? Do you also love what’s going on here?
I’d like to discuss today’s talent with you in the comments below!
