Maxwell Tilse (@maxwellillustration) is my pick for today’s talent!
If you don’t know what A Year on Talents is here you can find the description of the project: A Year on Talents Project

Maxwell is a self taught freelance illustrator and travel sketcher from Australia. I initially found out his art because of the extreme popularity of the miniatures on Instagram. It’s an original take on urban sketching and I find it very cool, it makes for some great photos and the collections that come out of them are simply amazing.

The precision he has to put on every single detail of his drawings is insane, I think the average number of lines of his pieces must be on the houndreds if not more. Sometimes he gets to put shades of color behind the pen and I love to see it.

Speaking of colors, look at this first image of St. Paul’s Cathedral, is it about to be a warm day there or is it going to be a cold evening? You can guess the sun is down from the tones. And by the way don’t let the pic fool you, that’s actually a very small piece (16×12 cm) so imagine putting all those lines down!

The second image is a close-up of a Chelsea view (the completed and full work is alerady on his IG), we can all only imagine how much time and effort goes into his passion, a truly admirable talent. Following this style he also draws some fantasy places which I like to imagine printed in a bunch of old adventure books.

What do you think about Maxwell? Do you also love what’s going on here?
