Mie Ruistuen (@cheneviv) is my pick for today’s talent!
If you don’t know what A Year on Talents is here you can find the description of the project: A Year on Talents Project

Mie Ruistuen is an artist from Norway, she loves d&d (dungeons and dragons, the roleplaying game) and often draws inspired by the characters and their worlds. The majority of her artworks are digital portraits and the style is a semi-realistic one. She is even about to release a course on this topic (link below if you’re interested).

I feel like her passion for fantasy and her drawing skills perfectly match together to create an artist that’s capable of moving really smoothly from realism to “human-like” fantastic creatures sporting horns (tieflings anyone?), pointy ears (elf or drow?) and all sorts of color and shape mutations.

The first image is really beautiful, it catches my eyes completely. I love the hair and also the detail and depth she gave to the clothings. This one is a redraw of the first post she made on her IG account a touch more than a year ago. If you’d like to see how the artist improved go take a look she posted this one together with the older version of it (I like them both, but the new one is just amazing!).

The second picture is yet another wonderful portrait, this time I really loved the colors she used and not only for the hair. I actually think the hat, her skin, the lips, the various shades and all the rest have been carefully chosen and ended up building the perfect palette to create this beauty we’re looking at. Absolutely stunning!

What do you think about Mie? Do you also love what’s going on here?
