Grecia Baltazar (@grecia.illustrator) is my pick for today’s talent!
If you don’t know what A Year on Talents is here you can find the description of the project: A Year on Talents Project

Grecia is a digital artist from the States and her artworks are amongst the most beautiful and moving I’ve seen. She does have a strong ability in making you feel emotions through art, whether it is by the palette she is using or by the enphasization of a precise part of the body of her subject you almost always look at the artwork and walk away with an experience.

It’s rare I’ve been able to look at her IG feed without being impressed by something, there’s always a piece (most of them actually) that catches my eyes and requires attention for details and a deep thought. Something I find amazing is how well she uses gold or a shiny and bright tone more in general to put accents or decorate the illustrations, a true beauty.

The first piece is super cool, the witch and her familiar are looking fantastic and she used just a couple of tones, there’s a big big work on lights and shadows to make it look so beautiful. The background is stunning it really gives the idea of a smoky-blurred mirror delimited by this amazing border. Best detail I found is definitely the shiny earring balancing the two points of light coming from the eyes. Wonderful illustration!

The second image on its semi-symmetry is driving me crazy, the whole piece is very good and I love the look of the demon watching down. I enjoyed my time spending a few minutes looking for all the little differences between the left and the right half and I came to the conclusion that this one’s the most non symmetrical of all the paintings that look so at first glance and the hidden beauty of it, the secret that makes it so good might very well be this one.

What do you think about Grecia? Do you also love what’s going on here?
