Saoirse Lou (@saoirselouscribbles) is my pick for today’s talent!
If you don’t know what A Year on Talents is here you can find the description of the project: A Year on Talents Project

Saoirse is an artist and illustrator living in Poole, UK, she makes aaawesome characters for children’s books, but let me tell you I’m not a kid anymore and yet I love them all, they’re so cute and well done.

She has a passion for nature, mythology and folklore which means often her works feature fantastic creatures. Lately on her IG feed tho she’s been posting a few drawings with the subtheme “mothers“, I’ve included a picture here so if you like it you know there’s more. I wanted to tell you because looking at them I feel such a strong energy and positivity feeling that I hope some of you can get the same. After all I’m Italian, you know what they say about Italians, we love our mamma a lot <3

Here’s one of the mums illustration (click on the pic to see all the women) which is remarkable for its simple and natural way of showing how little Love cares about differences in the world. It’s a message to be kind to ourselves and to the people around us, to break all the barriers that might be there and remember we’re all wonderful in the same way, each and everyone in its own way.

In the second image the grass-watery mermaid is just adorable, sometimes little details like her skin, the cheeks or the two little tadpoles swimming with her are exactly what elevates an illustration to the top level. Steals a smile, very very nice!

What do you think about Saoirse? Do you also love what’s going on here?
I’d like to discuss today’s talent with you in the comments below!
