Sarah Burns (@sarahburnsstudio) is my pick for today’s talent!
If you don’t know what A Year on Talents is here you can find the description of the project: A Year on Talents Project

Sarah is an artist and teacher from Scotland and she’s a true master of landscapes! Many of her artworks are also plein airs which is a thing I admire a lot and want to try it myself. I especially love when you can see the real place standing right behind the painting cause then I can start looking at details to undestrand how that little rock was made, how this little shade was represented.. and so on. Luckily Sarah’s feed on IG often gives me the opportunity to have fun this way. And let me tell you even if it’s not a plein air I’ve found myself looking for details on all her pieces, so I guess that was just an excuse I made up, because I love them all they’re all beautiful!

Woa! The first image is just amazing, her artwork really looks like the real continuation of nature! I feel she perfectly caught all the colors and the light aswell, I’m speechless. What I can say is that I love how this pic was taken (on IG you’ll also find a few process videos!) both for the angle and for the fact that I can see some of the supplies, her setup is really cute.

The second picture is a wonderful seascape painted with gouache and if you zoom in you’ll be able to see the texture created with the dry brush so well, it’s a great example of how this technique can be used to its best. Stunning effect. I also love the colors she used, look at the sky reflected on the water, and the perfect tone difference between the dry and the wet sand.

What do you think about Sarah? Do you also love what’s going on here?
