Suri (@suri_draws) is my pick for today’s talent!
If you don’t know what A Year on Talents is here you can find the description of the project: A Year on Talents Project
Suri is an artist from Germany, she works with digital and traditional mediums drawing and painting stunning portraits of women of all sorts. The most intriguing part of all her artworks are the complicate and intricate textures she creates sometimes using tattoos or just clothings. She ranges from simple and clean shapes to articulate and “a million lines” kinda things and I don’t know how but they always seem to fit perfectly no matter which kind she goes for.
I appreciate the high amount of pencil and ink art on her profile, her style is fantastic. Also the fact that she keeps switching medium like it’s nothing always coming up with something beautiful. You might see digital, watercolors and ink side by side and I think it’s a powerful trait Suri has, I always feel a bit clunky if I pick up a medium I haven’t practiced for a while but she instead nails it effortlessly.
The first woman in watercolor is just amazing, the colors are so beautiful she was able to find such delicate tones that pair up wonderfully. This art also has one of those tattos I like a lot and on top of that I love the eyes she made, they’re definitely worth a zoom in (click on the image) cause they’ve been worked on very well.
The second pic is somewhat strange it’s an artwork she started as a watercolor but ended up doing it like this, a lineart. It’s not a problem I like when this happens to me too.. You start with an idea but then art takes it over and drives you in a different direction. All the resulting pieces, like this one, feel genuine and very good. It’s also a bit strange cause of those spooky black hands they make me think the lady is evil. It’s still fantastic to look at tho!
