Anastasia is an artist originally from Russia, now based in Germany. During her career she worked on plenty of books and covers and I think her style is really perfect for those kind of projects. Among other things I really enjoy her character paintings and all the times she puts an animal on the canvas. Actually there are some animal stickers that look sooooo good if you like those definitely check out her IG profile, it’s not even only about animals they’re kind of a big part but in a whimsical world full of cute little pets there are also objects and decorations and those are super nice too! Some of the best stickers I’ve ever seen honestly.
The first lady in the nest was an artwork she made to join folktaleweek in the latest days of 2020. I really like the soft touch and the calm tones she used. The “birth” theme made into a giant nest with the eggs is original, and I like how together with nature she put those bright plants in the back completing the idea of a magical place right? Cause the skewed dimensions of the girl and the eggs already try to tell a story but the shiny elements behind to me complete the feeling. Very good tale illustration!
The second pic is really special starting from the photo itself, I love the fact that she built a crown of leaves to surround the artwork, it’s so deep it takes the piece to another level really. Looking at the drawing then I just adore this little foxy girl and all her mouse friends (you might have to zoom in to notice, they’re super cute!!). I think the clothings are on point they really look perfect for a half human living in the wild they almost look handmade cozy “my fave” kind of clothes. So enjoyable
