Yuki Tsugawa (@yuki_t_illustrator) is my pick for today’s talent!
If you don’t know what A Year on Talents is here you can find the description of the project: A Year on Talents Project

Yuki is an illustrator from Osaka, Japan. He paints both digitally and traditionally and does some extremely cool and complicated characters. The colors are super expressive, the poses are always fantastic and overall it feels like every piece would take ages to complete looking at how they’re precise and detailed.

It gives me the idea every artwork was made as a super cool magazine cover or something like that you know, where the important character is doing something great and you’re looking at the clue moment of the story. I like this style a lot cause it makes it easy for me to get passionate about the characters.

The first piece is an awesome Mucha style painting, I absolutely love the style of the artist I’ve even been at an exhibition and it was amazing. This artwork captures that style and turns into Yuki version of it, I like it cause it’s still a lot like the originals and reminds me of those immediately. The work on the background, especially, is stunning and beautiful.

The second image is one he shared a lot of the process on IG, there’s a nice swipe effect that brings you from sketh to final piece and it’s great. There are also assistants to this character you can find on the feed, if you like this style and the character definitely check them out. I’m attracted by the splatters on this one since it’s something I love to do on my paintings too and I find them very nice here.

What do you think about Yuki? Do you also love what’s going on here?
