Fatinha Ramos (@fatinharamos) is my pick for today’s talent!
If you don’t know what A Year on Talents is here you can find the description of the project: A Year on Talents Project

Fatinha is an illustrator originally from Portugal, former designer and art director for a long time decided illustrating is her thing and we must be glad she did! I find the naturalness and simplicity of her pieces to be disarmingly good, she’s capable of treating heavy themes with clear shapes and colorful subjects and does it so easily.

The texture, the colors, the decisions on what the illustration is going to be about and how to paint it are all always fantastic. I’m not surprised she had the chance to work on many books and relevant projects winning awards on the way and being part of prestigious events. I love how she shows sometimes just a basic silhouette might be all you need to send a powerful message.

“FEAR” is the first pic and the idea of using the shadow as the real source of troubles that the man is trying to move into using just that little torch is just wow.. The greenish tone of the dark world fits perfectly with the forest theme. On top of that the texture of the background is one of those things maybe you don’t notice at first glance, but probably made the biggest of differences.

The second image is about Audrey Hepburn, born in Brussels. The lovely face you see down there is her Yorkshire Terrier called Mr Famous and it’s so adorable. This illustration was made for “Bedtime stories for rebel girls”, a book talking about strong ladies from the Netherlands. On IG you can see the reference pic and I found the match with the illustration to be super nice!
