Guia Gandi (@guiaagnes) is my pick for today’s talent!
If you don’t know what A Year on Talents is here you can find the description of the project: A Year on Talents Project

Guia is an illustrator and character designer based in Italy. She made experience with graphic design and book covers too so the wide range of skills is what gives her the chances to make such beautiful art. On her profile you’ll find a ton of character designs and in pretty equal measure they’re made with digital techniques or traditional mediums.

One thing I love is when she draws animals and uses fantastic lines to give them human poses and expressions, making them the best version for animation or any children’s book or story. Super cute little friends that in some ways bring me memories of my childhood. If you think you can like them definitely check out her feed!

The first image is a super cool illustration done for “#classylockdown”, an hashtag that went a bit viral in the past. I love that she chose plants as companions for this piece, I also lately grew the passion that’s always been there and I know how healthy and satisfying it can be to take care of them, give them some water like she’s doing in the pic, and look at nature doing its things.

The second picture inspired by “The truth on Harry Quebert affair” is a wonderful artwork in which I think she nailed the shadows so precisely! You see, a little detail like the shape of the holes left by the shadows combined with the style she used to represent the trees in the background is what gives this illustration something special. It looks so good and natural. I also think she used a beautiful color palette and balanced the warm colors with the trunks, very nice.
