Julia Puche (@julspx) is my pick for today’s talent!
If you don’t know what A Year on Talents is here you can find the description of the project: A Year on Talents Project

Julia is an illustrator from Spain, she does a lot of different paintings and always surprises me, all of her artworks do have that feeling of being “strange” in a good way. I think it’s maybe her style of making interesting and cool subjects with impressive techniques, they’re all dazzling. It might be the choice of the subject or the palette, or maybe the brush strokes.. who knows.

Anyway, if you like people who think out of the box and you love art she’s definitely a good target for your eyes. I hope the little sample you will see here is going to generate some curiosity you can satisfy following the link to her IG profile cause it would be very hard to be able to give you enough in such a small spotlight. Believe me, take a look at her diverse feed.

The first image is a landscape study of her to which I’m immediately going to add there’s a nice light exercise hidden inside. I like how she handled the big shadow in the center twisting the shape perfectly to reflect the movements of other side of the valley. The big pillar takes the scene (very good choice to not put it perfectly in the center) and overall I think she also found a good way to put some greenery and vegetation in there so I like it a lot!

The second image is very very good (ok you all know I have a passion for animals, cats among my favorites, and this one is beauuutiful so it counts, but if it wasn’t for it I would’ve liked this artwork the same). The glasses look cool, the old style car is also great and it all really gives the sense of coming straight from the 60s! Nice!

What do you think about Julia? Do you also love what’s going on here?
