Kyle Scott (@kjscottart) is my pick for today’s talent!
If you don’t know what A Year on Talents is here you can find the description of the project: A Year on Talents Project

Kyle is an artist based in Vancouver, Canada. He likes to paint and draw and on his IG you will find a few portraits and a few cityscapes with a little bit of everything else in between. I enjoy looking at his art mainly for two reasons: the first one is the very eye-pleasing use of geometrical shapes and the second one is the choice of color palettes, which are most of the times very cool and just slightly out of the conventional boundaries, making the paintings realistic, but with that touch of the artist adding a lot more. There are a lot of digital paintings, but if you like traditional mediums more you’ll find some very interesting artworks every now and then in the feed.

The first painting is really beautiful, in my opinion this is the best combined level of precision and details to be in the right spot where everything is visible and distinguishable, but nothing is too much “real”. The windows are outstanding and could be missed at first yet I think they’re a key piece of the puzzle. Oh, I also love the green tone of the building in the middle, it’s not common (at least here were I live) but it’s looking great.

The second pic, “A study of colour from Raise the Red Lantern”, doesn’t even need me to state the obvious cause it speaks for itself. Kyle shared two more pieces that are more geometric along with it and follow the same color scheme, surely worth a look (swipe the main pic on IG!). In this one a detail I find amazing is the light line hitting the hair, things like that are harder to do than they look, in my experience every time I make one it looks bad, but this one is fantastic!

What do you think about Kyle? Do you also love what’s going on here?
