Maxine Ha (@mxiiha) is my pick for today’s talent!
If you don’t know what A Year on Talents is here you can find the description of the project: A Year on Talents Project

Maxine is an illustrator from Germany. If the first thing you think about when you hear the word “storytelling” is “words” or maybe someone that is “speaking” today you might get inspired to connect the word “illustrations” too. I say that because it’s undeniable Maxine’s artworks are so moving they’re able to tell stories on their own.

I’m not surprised the focus recently is on book covers, children’s book illustrations and editorial illustrations since those are really the places where a good drawing can make the difference. You get to offer an immersive experience especially on a child’s mind that’s hearing the parent telling the story but needs a visual guidance to imagine what’s happening.

The first picture here is really special and to be complete you should really take a look at the IG profile because it’s just the first of 31 illustrations for the #MisadventureMay. There are basically a lot of illustrations that followed through from 1 to 31 are telling a complete story, with pictures showing the clue moments. I found tem all super cool and I love the style and the colors (consistent) that were used. A wonderful project!

The second picture is so good, it reminds me of the Jungle Book and I just love it! The tiger really really looks like coming from a leap and turning on its back, ready to jump again. There is so much movement in a static picture I’m stunned. I find the shadow to be perfect, and the environment enriched with gorgeous leafs and the two little birds is fantastic!

What do you think about Maxine? Do you also love what’s going on here?
