Samantha Dion Baker (@sdionbakerdesign) is my pick for today’s talent!
If you don’t know what A Year on Talents is here you can find the description of the project: A Year on Talents Project

Samantha is an illustrator, author and designer from Philadelphia and before that she has been a graphic designer for more than twenty years. She always kept an eye on the art world, prepare to see a wide variety of works!

What I love the most about scrolling through her profile is the fact that it seems like having an open window on her everyday encounters and actions. She draws a moment or a figure and complements it with a few words to reach the deepest details or just give you a touch more, all in an awesome style.

The little book you see is full of portraits and meaningful quotes / thoughts, I chose to highlight this page with Nelson Mandela cause I think the love message deserves all the attention it can get, especially during this rough time we’re all going through. Take a second to appreciate both the words and the likeness of the portrait to Mandela himself.

What a way to fill the pages of her sketchbook journal! In the second image you can see how she narrates her second day of family quarantine and gives so many details… I almost feel like I took part in some of those moments and I surely would’ve liked to (homemade cookies at 9:30 PM? Yes please!).

What do you think about Samantha? Do you also love what’s going on here?
I’d like to discuss today’s talent with you in the comments below!
