Shari Blaukopf (@sharisketcher) is my pick for today’s talent!
If you don’t know what A Year on Talents is here you can find the description of the project: A Year on Talents Project

Shari is a sketcher, author and teacher from Canada and she’s yet another awesome artist from this series of mine I discovered through a book. We’re talking about “Working with Color” this time and I’ve enjoyed every little bit of it!

I very much like her blog and I find it super interesting (there’s a link for that one down below) as well as her videos which I remember being full of useful instructions that I’m still using with much success nowadays.

At a first look the collection of sea creatures and shells might give the impression of being leaning on top of the page but (of course!) they’re painted in watercolor. Out of them all I’m really dying for the last one in the corner up there, the blue she used to pair with the orange/brown is stunning!

Look at the rocks in the foreground in the second image: I admire her ability to create the 3D effect with a couple of shadow lines and shapes of different color. And don’t forget about the little white spaces she left here and there, the result wouldn’t be the same without.

What do you think about Shari? Do you also love what’s going on here?
I’d like to discuss today’s talent with you in the comments below!
